A leading food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced EHS Construction Expansion Manager to support the expansion of two critical production facilities in Fremont, Ohio. This person will play a highly visible leadership role, driving environmental, health, and safety excellence throughout the full project lifecycle. The position offers the opportunity to shape site-wide safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and influence long-term operational success. The Role

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across major facility expansion projects.
  • Serve as the key EHS advisor to project and operational leadership, providing guidance on compliance, risk management, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations, while driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with project, operations, and cross-functional teams to integrate EHS principles into planning, execution, and day-to-day site activities.
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics, deliver training, manage regulatory documentation, and foster a proactive culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Ability to travel 50% of time.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive EHS experience, including involvement with large capital projects, construction, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and industrial safety regulations, with a demonstrated track record of ensuring compliance and reducing risk.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, drive cultural change, and collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are preferred; willingness to travel up to 50% and support project demands as needed.
