Environmental Health Safety (EHS) And Compliance DirectorThe Environmental Health Safety (EHS) and Compliance Director leads environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs across Watermill Express Manufacturing and Field Operations. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while driving a proactive safety culture and continuous risk reduction across the organization. The EHS and Compliance Director is responsible for developing strategy, policies, training programs, compliance systems, and performance metrics that reduce incidents, minimize risk, and protect employees, customers, and company assets.Essential Functions:EHS Program Leadership & StrategyDevelop, implement, and maintain company-wide EHS policies and proceduresLead annual EHS strategic planning and continuous improvement initiativesEstablish, track, and report company-wide safety KPIs and performance metricsManage safety program budgets and resource requirementsMaintain all EHS documentation and regulatory reporting systemsRegulatory Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and workers' compensation regulationsMaintain OSHA 300 logs and required regulatory documentationDirect and monitor water and ice quality compliance testing at the unit level in each market, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards and frequency requirements.Keep MSDS/SDS documentation current and accessibleConduct facility and field inspections and oversee corrective and preventive action plansDevelop and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for high-risk manufacturing and field processesIdentify operational risks and implement mitigation strategiesPartner with insurance carriers and loss control representatives during audits and risk assessmentsIncident Management & Workers' CompensationLead investigations into workplace injuries, accidents, near misses, and compliance violationsOversee post-accident reporting and required drug testing processesAdminister the Return-to-Work program, including transitional duty assignmentsSupport the workers' compensation program, including case management and quarterly loss run reviewsDevelop corrective and preventive action plans to reduce recurrenceSafety Leadership & Culture DevelopmentLead and facilitate company safety committee meetings (monthly/quarterly)Conduct regular safety reviews with Regional and District ManagersPromote and strengthen safety culture across manufacturing and field teamsAnalyze safety trends and develop data-driven improvement plansDriver Safety ProgramDevelop, manage, and continuously improve the driver safety program using Samsara (or similar platform)Establish driver safety KPIs, reporting dashboards, and performance trackingImplement corrective actions and incentive/reward systems to reduce incidentsDeliver safe driving and vehicle safety trainingTraining & DevelopmentDevelop and deliver safety training for employees and new hiresEnsure compliance with all required regulatory training (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.)Maintain training schedules and documentation in partnership with HRCoordinate First Aid, CPR, and AED certificationsManage manufacturing plant fire extinguisher inspection and certification programsBenefits:Company provided vehicle.Comprehensive medical insurance- no monthly premium for employee only coverage.Employer HSA contributions (if applicable).Company provided life and AD&D insurance.Optional benefits include dental, vision, supplemental life, short-term disability, accident and critical illness coverages.Company provided Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Vacation accrual.Paid holidays.401k and Roth eligibility with company match.Company provided attire.Incentive opportunities available.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Experience developing and managing driver safety programs (Samsara preferred)Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and workers' compensation regulationsExperience working with insurance carriers and loss control representativesDemonstrated ability to analyze safety data and develop actionable improvement plansProven experience building safety culture in manufacturing and field environmentsStrong leadership, communication, and presentation skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management softwareBilingual Spanish preferredPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbsCapable of bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, and walking job sitesComfortable working in non-climate-controlled environmentsAble to sit or stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours)Ability to travel independently, including overnight travelFrequent travel is required across all 20 market locations in 8 states, 50-75% travel time required.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field5+ years of progressive EHS experience
