Job Summary
We are seeking an Expert EE Value Optimization Engineer to lead cost optimization initiatives across Electrical & Electronic (EE) systems while maintaining high standards for product quality, functionality, safety, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, and Suppliers—to identify, evaluate, and implement value engineering opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead EE Value Initiatives: Direct value engineering and cost optimization initiatives for Electrical & Electronic (EE) systems across current and future vehicle programs.
Identify System Opportunities: Uncover cost-reduction potential in wiring harnesses, controllers, sensors, power distribution, lighting, infotainment, ADAS, and electronic modules.
Cost & Feasibility Studies: Perform design-to-cost, should-cost, and value analysis studies while balancing quality, performance, weight, manufacturability, and reliability.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Design Release Engineers (DREs), Purchasing, Suppliers, Manufacturing, and Program Management to implement approved optimization projects.
Benchmarking & Analysis: Conduct competitive teardown analyses and industry benchmarking to identify best practices and cost-saving opportunities.
Technical Reviews: Review engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and supplier quotations to build optimization proposals.
Leadership Presentations: Present value optimization recommendations and technical analyses to engineering leadership.
Tracking & Governance: Monitor project savings, implementation status, and financial impacts against program targets.
Change Management & Mentorship: Support engineering change management activities (ECN/ECR), ensure compliance with automotive engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers on value engineering methodologies.
