Description: Scarborough Public Schools is seeking compassionate and dedicated Educational Technicians to join our Special Education Team. This position involves working directly with students in both one-on-one and small group settings to provide instructional and behavioral support. Positions available at all grade levels.

Qualifications: Must hold current Educational Technician certification and have your CHRC (fingerprinting). School experience preferred.
Maine State Law requires ALL school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Record Check (CHRC). A copy of your CHRC MUST be uploaded as part of your application to be considered. Description: Scarborough Public Schools is seeking compassionate and dedicated Educational Technicians to join our Special Education Team. This position involves working directly with students in both one-on-one and small group settings to provide instructional and behavioral support. Positions available at all grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist special education teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction in academic, social, and life skills as directed by the special education teacher.
- Support students in inclusive classroom settings, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are engaged in learning.
- Assist in modifying and adapting classroom materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Implement behavioral support plans, monitor progress, and assist with positive behavior interventions.
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collect data on student progress and provide input to the special education team.
- Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and other school staff to ensure students receive appropriate support.
- Assist students with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, or mobility, if necessary.
- Attend professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices in special education support.
