Position Summary
The Communications, Design, and Creative Arts Department at STLCC-Florissant Valley campus is seeking a ceramics studio technician to provide technical and instructional support for its ceramics courses. This is a part-time position and is limited to 10 hours per week.
Primary Duties Performed
- Primary Duties Performed
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the ceramics studio and outdoor work areas
- Loading, firing, and unloading kilns,
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments to studio equipment
- Mix, test, and maintain glazes, slips, and stains
- Manage supply inventory
- Recycle clay
- Provide instructional support in the classroom
- High school diploma or equivalent with extensive experience in ceramic arts and studio management. BFA or higher degree with a concentration in Ceramics is preferred.
- This position is limited to 10 hours per week.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects.
