Summary
The Educational Assistant (EA) supports student learning and the teacher throughout the school day by assisting with classroom instruction, student supervision, lunch, recess, and daily school routines. This position reinforces the school's culture by helping students develop Christ-centered attitudes, behaviors, and skills while contributing to a structured, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher with daily classroom instruction, student learning, and school routines
  • Follow the teacher's direction and assist in carrying out classroom plans and expectations
  • Plan and complete assigned tasks in a timely and thorough manner
  • Assist the teacher with classroom projects, grading, collating, printing, preparation, and other assigned responsibilities
  • Participate in and facilitate small-group learning activities under the direction of the teacher
  • Help maintain an attractive, organized, and orderly classroom environment that supports the educational process and complements the units and themes being taught
  • Support student management and behavior in accordance with the school's discipline policies and procedures
  • Supervise and support students during lunch, recess, bathroom breaks, hallway transitions, and specialist classes
  • Encourage students to demonstrate Christ-like attitudes, respect, responsibility, and appropriate behavior throughout the school day
  • Assist in creating a classroom environment that is safe, positive, structured, and conducive to learning
  • Supporting the safety, health, and well-being of students in the classroom and throughout assigned areas of the campus
  • Arriving on time and being prepared to fulfill assigned responsibilities
  • Attending staff meetings, in-service training, and other meetings as requested
  • Setting up and cleaning up the classroom as directed by the teacher
  • Monitoring classroom and instructional supply needs and communicating those needs to the teacher or lunch/recess supervisor in a timely manner
  • Conducting oneself in a professional, respectful, and Christ-centered manner both in and outside the classroom
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters
  • Completing and maintaining all required professional development and training
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the designated Principal
Qualifications
  • Born Again Christian walking faithfully with God, has a personal testimony, and lives a consecrated life devoted to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Regularly attend an evangelical Christian church
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to spiritual growth through prayer, Bible reading, worship, and sharing the Gospel
  • Live as a godly example, demonstrating Christ-like character, attitudes, relationships, integrity, and conduct
  • Previous experience and/or training working with elementary-age children in an educational, childcare, ministry, or similar setting preferred
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification within three months of employment
