Adventist Healthcare is seeking an experienced Education Specialist (RN) for their Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). This role is ideal for a dedicated nurse who is passionate about onboarding, training, and developing nursing staff.

• Pay: $77,314 - $115,981/year
• Location: Silver Spring, MD
• Facility: White Oak Medical Center
• Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

What You’ll Do

• Onboard/Orient newly hired staff
• Assess competency and evaluation of performance
• Provide continuing nursing education
• Identify practice gaps and learning needs
• Develop an appropriate education plan based on professional practice gaps and learning needs
• Assist nurses in preparation for certification in specialty
• Coordinate, facilitate and evaluate activities that promote professional role development
• Perform as nurse planner and provide contact hours for educational offerings

Requirements

Education

• BSN required, MSN preferred

Experience

• 2 years in clinical specialty
• 2 years of nursing education experience preferred
• 1 year in leadership role preferred (includes charge nurse, preceptor)

Licenses & Certifications

• Certification in clinical specialty or nursing professional development within one year of hire
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken required
