We are seeking a skilled and motivated EDM Machinist II to join our machining team. This position plays a critical role in producing precision aerospace components while supporting manufacturing excellence, quality, and on-time delivery.Position SummaryThe EDM Machinist II is responsible for setting up and operating Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM) to support secondary operations and manufacture complex precision components. This role requires experience with EDM machining, blueprint and GD&T interpretation, process troubleshooting, and quality control.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate EDM equipment including Wire EDM and/or Small Hole EDM.Manufacture electrodes and fixtures to support machining processes.Interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements.Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools.Troubleshoot nonconforming conditions and adjust tooling or machine controls as needed.Record production data, including setup and run times.Apply knowledge of machine capabilities to optimize processes.Complete preventive maintenance tasks and maintain equipment performance.Recommend tooling and fixture improvements.Deburr, clean, and package finished parts.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Planning teamsQualificationsTraining and Experience Requirements:Minimum 4 years' work experience, trade school, vocational education or apprenticeship required.Minimum 2 years' experience in EDM machining.Practical experience with conventional machining, desirable.Ability to use manual inspection tools required.Practical application of machine shop mathematics.Exposure to basic CAD/CAM, desirable.Experience in WEDM and Small Hole, desirable.Education, Licenses and CertificationsHigh School diploma, or GED required.Trade school, vocational education, or 4-year apprenticeship with 3-years work experience acceptable, in lieu of High School diploma or GED.Leadership Skills / Soft SkillsCritical Thinking and AnalysisProblem IdentificationProblem SolvingContinuous ImprovementCommunicationPhysical Requirements• Long periods of standing and/or walking • Repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers • Ability to lift/push objects up to 25 lbs • Use of hand tools • Active movement throughout workdayOur ValuesBeing Accountable – Taking ownership of responsibilities and delivering quality results.Being Collaborative – Working respectfully and effectively with others.Being Empowered – Taking initiative and embracing continuous improvement.BenefitsAt Micro-Tronics Inc., we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
