EDI Business AnalystLocation: Kansas City, MO (Onsite)Duration: 11+ MonthsExperience: 8+Purpose Of The Position:The EDI Business Analyst is focused on applications and processes related to the customer experience and is responsible for gathering requirements, user acceptance testing of EDI systems, producing complex reporting, and driving resolution to business production issues to improve our EDI systems and technology. In this role, you will engage and collaborate with the EDI teams across 3 countries, Business Stakeholders, and IS teams to identify opportunities to utilize technology related to our internal processes. You will also identify the best solution to streamline processes by acknowledging and understanding people, processes, and technology.

The role supports various EDI teams in Canada, the US, and Mexico. This position will require providing service, building and maintaining positive relationships with the business, and functioning as a team player.Job Responsibilities:Support of all EDI systems including ITX, TMDS, EAI, SAPTM, Customer Portals, and other EDI focused applications.Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, design thinking, task and workflow analysisReviews and analyzes system problems to identify solutions or recommendationsWork with EDI, IS, and business teams to understand and document business process requirements, analyzing and validating for automation feasibility; assisting the core automation team in creating the business casePerform testing, identify issues concerning solution performance, communicate required changes to the development team, and track resolutionSystem requirement identification and documentation analysisPlan and facilitate workshops to identify and validate requirements with IS and business stakeholders in support of projects and opportunitiesBuild knowledge of the organization, processes, and customersSolve a range of straightforward problems; analyze possible solutions using standard proceduresReceive a moderate level of guidance and directionLeads process mapping/modeling and translates requirements into designMay be required to work irregular hours (weekends, after business hours)May be required to perform on-call dutiesAbility to adjust to changing priorities and manage customer/stakeholder expectationsAbility to manage changeLeverages best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services; Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutionsRequirements:Experience gathering requirements, capturing working flows, and user acceptance testing of EDI systemsExcellent communication skillsEDI experience – transportation industry or railroad industry (highly preferred)Experience with X12 EDI StandardsKnowledge of customer-facing EDI transactions and acknowledgmentsBusiness analyst or project management, or equivalent experienceProcess mapping and project management methodologyAbility to communicate effectively, strong written and oral skills to respond to internal and external requests for informationStrong problem-solving, organizational, and planning skillsWorking with business stakeholders regarding process, procedure, and policy development or creationNice To Have:Experience with SalesforceBi-Lingual (English and Spanish)
