Echo Cardiac Technologist

Overview

Position is PRN; shift Friday night 6pm-6am at Methodist Hospital. Performs, administers & monitors Cardio‑Diagnostic tests with primary emphasis on cardiac sonography and Doppler studies. Provides physician with preliminary findings of recorded data through monitoring and performing the necessary calculations, timely and with required knowledge and skills for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment, positions patients correctly to record requested diagnostic images, and treats patients with care and respect.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Basic Life Support certification required; Advanced Life Support certification may also be required, if applicable.
• Applicant must be eligible to sit for their registry at hire and pass it within one year from start date through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS), or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS).
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
• Pass written exam for Basic EKG interpretation with score >85% initially and repeat yearly.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Echocardiography is preferred.
