USD #244 has received a grant to expand early reading intervention services for the school year. We are seeking a caring and dependable part-time classified staff member to support early literacy intervention efforts at the elementary level.
Working alongside Title I teachers and literacy intervention staff, this position will help increase intervention opportunities, support small-group instruction, and assist with Tier 3 (1:1) literacy services for students requiring intensive reading support. This role is designed to provide additional targeted practice and reinforcement of essential literacy skills.
Position Details
  • Position: Part-Time Early Literacy Intervention Paraprofessional
  • Schedule: 3.5 hours per day
  • Contract: 176 days, including required in-service and professional development days
  • School Year:
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required
  • College coursework preferred
  • Experience working with elementary-age students preferred
  • Interest in literacy instruction and student intervention
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and intervention staff
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
  • Support small-group and one-on-one literacy interventions under the direction of certified staff
  • Assist with implementing evidence-based reading intervention activities
  • Reinforce literacy skills through targeted, repeated practice
  • Help monitor student progress and maintain instructional materials
  • Collaborate with Title I teachers and literacy intervention staff
  • Participate in required professional learning and staff development
