Responsibilities Include

• Develop creative programs and activities for groups of children with developmental disabilities
• Encourage the children to participation in goal-orientated activities
• Work closely with families to provide information and skills necessary to enhance the development of the child
• Work with families and other service providers to achieve a child’s IFSP or EIP goals
• Provide services in a school-based daycare setting
• Daily data collection
• Maintain regular progress reports and attend meetings related to the child
• Oversee a group of 5-10 children as a lead teacher and direct the TA accordingly

Requirements

• Certified in New York State as a Teacher of Special Education
• Students with Disabilities Birth-2 Certificate or
• LCSW or LMSW
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Good technical skills and the ability to learn new databases

Preferred

• Bilingual a plus
• Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Instruction preferred but will train
• Experience working in home-based programs, schools or daycares
