Job Title
Under supervision of one or more teachers, infant/preschool assistants independently perform a variety of instructional activities; assist in the training and learning activities of infants and preschool children with special learning needs; provide for the personal and medical needs of students; perform a variety of routine clerical and supportive activities for instructional personnel; and perform other related work as required.
Required License/Certification
• Valid California driver's license • Possess or able to attain High Quality status as per No Child Left Behind (NCLB) regulations
Experience and Education
• High school diploma or equivalent • AA degree, or 48 college hours or units, or pass test of math, language arts and ability to assist per NCLB regulations • Any combination of successful qualifying experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and skills. A typical way to meet this requirement would be one year paid or volunteer experience working with infants and children of various ages in a learning environment • Training or coursework in child growth and development, special education, instructional technology, or a closely related field is preferred • Bilingual in English and Spanish desired
