Durability Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Durability Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Mount Vernon, WA . The ideal candidate must have strong experience in durability testing, mechanical engineering, and data analysis , along with the ability to support vehicle validation programs from planning through execution.

Rate Range: $55/hour to $70/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Durability Engineer Job Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute vehicle durability testing programs at the PACCAR Technical Center durability track.
• Manage overall testing activities including scope, schedules, resources, budgets, and project deliverables.
• Coordinate vehicle readiness activities and install instrumentation required for test data collection and analysis.
• Facilitate daily operational meetings with durability drivers, technicians, and vehicle operations personnel to support efficient test execution.
• Conduct routine inspections of test vehicles and identify root causes of component or system failures.
• Analyze durability test data and provide engineering recommendations to improve vehicle performance, reliability, and durability.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related STEM discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in engineering, test engineering, validation, or related technical roles.
• Strong understanding of:
• Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals
• Durability Testing
• Reliability Engineering
• Fatigue Analysis
• Structural Validation
• Root Cause Analysis
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data acquisition systems and vehicle instrumentation.
• Knowledge of heavy-duty truck, commercial vehicle, or automotive systems.
• Experience supporting product validation, reliability, or durability engineering programs.
• Familiarity with engineering test procedures, data collection methodologies, and validation processes.
• Experience working within automotive, transportation, or manufacturing industries.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $70.00 per hour
