A large, well-established drywall contractor in the New York City (Brooklyn) market is seeking a skilledDrywall Estimator to join a fast-paced, collaborative estimating team. This organization handles a heavy mix of ground-up multifamily, conversions, hotels, condos, and commercial interiors—ranging from quick-turn small projects to large, complex builds exceeding $40M.
The team is growing rapidly, workload is high, and they are looking to bring on the right person as soon as possible .
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing accurate estimates for both small interior projects ($50K–$200K) and large ground-up developments up to $40M+
- Performing detailed on-screen takeoffs using digital estimating software
- Managing a high volume of bids with quick turnaround times
- Collaborating closely with a young, energetic estimating department in an open-office environment
- Contributing to a busy and fast-moving workflow without requiring extensive oversight
What They’re Looking For
Experience
- Drywall estimating experience strongly preferred
- High proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff software (PlanSwift experience is a plus)
- Ability to handle both fast, small bids and multi-day large takeoffs
- Comfortable working on large ground-up multifamily projects with hundreds of units
Skills & Traits
- Strong digital takeoff and estimating skills (software proficiency matters more than trade background)
- Able to “plug in” quickly and operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Collaborative communicator who fits well within a close-knit team
- Thrives in an open, informal office setting
