Drug And Alcohol Counselor
Valley Forge Medical Center is seeking a Drug and Alcohol Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals rebuild their lives in recovery.
In this role, you will play a meaningful part in supporting clients on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders. You will provide compassionate clinical care, structure, and guidance within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Complete comprehensive psychosocial and other clinical assessments as indicated.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, presenting clear and concise patient updates and clinical impressions.
- Complete all required documentation in the EMR in accordance with regulatory, utilization review, and quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate pertinent patient information as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention when clinically necessary.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development sessions.
Education and credentials:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services), or a related field preferred. Certification such as AAC, CAAC, CADC, or CAADC through the Pennsylvania Certification Board preferred. Professional licensure through the Department of State and/or PCB credentialing preferred.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Plus every 6th weekend rotation
Compensation:
$54,000–$62,000 annually
