Recovery Through Work is a workforce development and peer support program serving individuals in recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. The program operates on a rotating schedule across three Merakey sites in Philadelphia.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Drug and Alcohol Counselor (DAC) to join our team. The counselor will support participants on their recovery and employment journeys by providing vocational guidance, peer support, and access to training and community resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of individuals in recovery seeking workforce reentry
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized career navigation plans
- Support participants with job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation
- Connect clients to community resources for training, certifications, and employment
- Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in electronic health records (EHR)
- Travel between three Merakey sites on a rotating schedule
- Provide ongoing one-on-one peer support and counseling
- Certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor (or equivalent based on state regulations)
- Experience working with individuals in recovery from substance use or co-occurring disorders
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including EHR documentation
- Ability to travel locally between Merakey sites
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of vocational services, local training programs, and workforce development resources is a plus
