Drone Show Choreographer / Programmer

About SkyGlow

SkyGlow Drone Productions creates custom drone swarm light shows for corporate events, community celebrations, sports, and other live experiences. Our team works with clients to turn an idea or story into a show in the sky. Productions generally use 100-200 drones, depending on the event.

The Role

We're looking for a Drone Show Choreographer / Programmer who can translate a client's vision into drone formations, movement, and visual sequences. You'll collaborate with SkyGlow's creative f and production team to develop show concepts, program and refine choreography, align visuals with music or event moments, and prepare show files for production.

We prefer someone who can work with our team locally and participate in live shows, but remote programming may be possible for the right candidate. Full-time, part-time, and contract arrangements are under consideration; the final scope will depend on the candidate and SkyGlow's needs.

Qualifications

• Experience creating animation, motion design, drone-show choreography, or other programmed visual sequences.
• Proficiency with Blender, Houdini, Drone Show Creator (DSC) SSPH - Path 3, or comparable tools relevant to the work.
• A portfolio or examples that demonstrate both creative judgment and technical execution.
• Strong attention to timing, visual composition, and the details needed to turn a concept into a finished show.
• Ability to collaborate with a team, respond to feedback, and communicate clearly about creative and technical decisions.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, when needed.

Experience in live entertainment, lighting, audio, or drone-show production is a plus. We're interested in people with relevant work to show, regardless of whether they have a particular degree.

Work Arrangements

• While our home office is based in Brason, Missouri, USA, REMOTE WORK is acceptable; availability to actually view occasional show is ideal.
• SkyGlow provides all necessary licensing keys and annual software fees
• Must own your own Windows computer (software is not compatible with MAC operating systems)
• Can be paid as W-2 or 1099-NEC - will be discussed at time of hiring.
