GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Driver Services Specialist for the Driver Services Renewals Program located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This position positively affects public safety on our roads and highways by reviewing and verifying the information contained on driver license and identification card applications for accuracy and compliance requiring extensive judgment and decision-making skills.
Cheyenne is a steadily growing community along the Front Range but still true to the Old West's history. The city offers nearby mountain biking, skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities. Cheyenne is also home to the "Daddy of 'em All" - Cheyenne Frontier Days - held every last week of July. Wyoming is one of only seven states with no state income tax.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
- Assist all internal and external customers with Driver Services-related issues that are received via phone calls, chat messages, mail and email.
- Perform workflow and calendar entries.
- Collect and balance money for all fees collected throughout the day.
- Prepare transmittals.
- Performs all daily tasks accurately with little tolerance for error.
- Must know all MAX and database systems to make any needed entries (this includes MAX, ERP, Google Suite, E-Learning, ESS, Image Capture Plus, SAVE program, Docman). Must be knowledgeable of all State statutes, federal and state rules and regulations and department policies and procedures.
- Must have solid working knowledge of all office equipment; computers, printers, scanning devices, database systems.
- Process various transactions to create correspondence to drivers, aiding other state agencies and law enforcement regarding Wyoming drivers.
- Review all renewal-through-the-mail applications and determine eligibility and residency through knowledge of Wyoming State Statutes and rules and regulations.
- Verify and update client records by adding and changing names, demographic information, license class, restrictions, forwarding addresses, next of kin, and veteran, military and immigrant status.
- Issue driver licenses and identification cards and collect fees.
- Scan all documents into the MAX system.
- Reviews and processes all credentials that have been returned to Driver Services from the Post Office. Determines if credentials need to be recorded and filed or destroyed due to new or incorrect issuance. Correspond via email with customers regarding the return of their credential.
- Assists all customers and driver license field offices regarding immigration status, eligibility, and clearance to be issued a Wyoming credential.
- Reviews for accuracy, processes and mails all Specialty Employee IDCs, Highway Patrol cards, and Peace Officer cards
PREFERENCE:
Preference will be given to those with Driver Services experience.
Preference will be given for advanced skill level using Google Drive, Google Calendar, and a database.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of Wyoming State Statutes and Rules and Regulations for specialized areas.
