Drilling & Decommissioning Engineer

Location

Spring Campus, TX (100% Onsite)

Travel

Required as needed to support operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of drilling, well intervention, decommissioning, or P&A experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and well design software (e.g., Landmark)
  • Experience with well databases such as Enverus
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and operational requirements for drilling and abandonment activities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support drilling, completion, decommissioning, and P&A programs across US Land (L48) and the US Gulf of America
  • Develop well designs, abandonment programs, contingency procedures, and operational documentation
  • Generate AFEs, track performance, monitor costs, and provide forecasts
  • Support operational execution while driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Investigate NPT events and tool failures to identify lessons learned and corrective actions
  • Coordinate activities between drilling, production, project, and decommissioning teams

Preferred Experience

  • Platform decommissioning and P&A operations in the US Gulf of America, particularly shallow water environments
  • Experience supporting lift boats, jack-ups, and well intervention operations
  • US Land drilling experience in both conventional and unconventional plays
  • Unconventional drilling experience outside the Permian Basin, including Bakken, Appalachia, or Haynesville

This position is ideal for an engineer with a balanced background in drilling and decommissioning who can support both offshore Gulf of America and onshore US operations.
