Job TitleThe Driller performs geotechnical drilling operations on a project basis, including operating drilling equipment, collecting subsurface data, and ensuring safe and efficient field execution. This role may support more complex drilling tasks as additional certifications and experience are gained. The Driller works primarily in the field and maintains a positive customer service attitude while demonstrating an understanding of ECS Core Values.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:Performs drilling operations, including borings and Geoprobe workOperates Geoprobe equipment to collect soil samples and Cone Penetration Test (CPT) dataLocates boring positions using maps, plans, or GPS systemsRecords all required drilling data accuratelyReports project-specific issues to the Project Manager or SupervisorPerforms routine maintenance on drill rigs and support trucks and reports repair needsTroubleshoots mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issuesFollows company safety procedures to maintain a safe work environmentLoads drill rigs and support vehicles with required supplies each dayPlans daily activities to meet productivity goals set by the Drilling Supervisor or Office ManagerCompletes timesheets and field documentation promptly and accuratelySubmits field reports and data in accordance with company standardsCares for and cleans assigned vehicles, drilling equipment, and toolsMaintains professional behavior and quality standardsTrains and mentors Driller HelpersPerforms other duties as assignedWillingness to work out of town and non-standard work schedules when requiredQualificationsRequired qualifications include:2 years of related experienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredIf driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid drivers license is required.
