Rock Drill OperatorThe Rock Drill Operator plays a critical role in construction, mining, and quarrying operations by efficiently and safely operating hammer drills to bore holes into rock surfaces. This position requires precision and technical expertise to ensure that drilling is performed according to project specifications and safety standards. The operator will collaborate closely with site supervisors and other team members to optimize drilling processes and maintain equipment functionality.

The Rock Drill Operator must be adaptable to various site conditions and committed to maintaining a safe working environment at all times.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Proven experience operating hammer drills or similar rock drilling equipment.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to rock drilling operations.Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in heavy equipment operation or rock drilling.Experience working in mining, quarrying, or large-scale construction projects.Familiarity with basic mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair.Completion of OSHA safety training or equivalent safety certifications.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and drilling plans.Responsibilities:Operate hammer drills and related equipment to drill holes in rock for blasting or other construction purposes.Perform routine inspections and maintenance on drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.Interpret drilling plans and specifications to accurately position and execute drilling tasks.Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to schedule drilling activities and minimize operational disruptions.Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.Skills:The required skill of operating a hammer drill is central to the daily tasks of the Rock Drill Operator, enabling precise and efficient drilling into rock surfaces.
