Job PostingJob Title: DoW SBR Audit Remediation Consultant Clearance Required: Secret Location: Hybrid (Pentagon – Three days onsite)About the Role: BizFirst is seeking a DoW SBR Audit Remediation Consultant to support a Department of War (DoW) customer with Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR) audit remediation and financial reporting improvement efforts. This role focuses on identifying root causes of audit findings, resolving budgetary discrepancies, and implementing sustainable process, data, and control improvements to strengthen auditability. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in federal budget execution and SBR reporting, with a strong ability to perform reconciliations, support audit requirements, and drive remediation efforts across complex financial environments.Key Responsibilities:Support remediation of SBR-related audit findings, including unsupported balances, incomplete populations, abnormal variances, and reporting inconsistenciesPerform budget execution and SBR reporting analysis, including Funding Authorization Document reconciliations, SF-132/SF-133 tie-outs, and variance analysisReconcile key SBR line items to source systems and feeder data to ensure accuracy and completenessDevelop and document remediation plans, including milestones and deliverables to support audit requests (PBC support)Assess and enhance internal controls over budgetary reporting and supporting business processesDraft and update process narratives and audit documentation to support audit readinessPartner with functional teams to remediate data quality issues and improve transaction traceabilityTranslate analytical findings into actionable corrective recommendationsSupport ongoing audit activities and stakeholder coordination effortsRequired Qualifications:10+ years of experience in federal financial management, budget execution, or financial statement audit supportDemonstrated experience with SBR concepts (apportionment, obligations, outlays, upward/downward adjustments, and budgetary accounting)Hands-on experience performing reconciliations and variance analysisExperience developing audit-ready documentation and supporting audit requests (PBCs)Strong ability to translate financial findings into corrective actionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholder groupsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related fieldSecret Clearance (required)Preferred Qualifications:Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Experience supporting Department of War (DoW) or other federal financial management programsFamiliarity with budget execution systems and federal financial reporting processesBenefits Include:Family Health, Dental, and Vision (54% cost covered for the entire family)Flexible Spending AccountBonuses for lifetime events (e.g., marriage, childbirth) and overutilization on T&M contractsProfit-sharing on work brought into the companyUnlimited Leave with approval$1,000 annual training budget401(k) with 100% employer match on the first 4% investedBizFirst LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, age, veteran disability or genetic information or any other reason prohibited by law in employment.
