Paraprofessional - Special Education
The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking a special education paraprofessional to work under teacher supervision to assist students with physical, mental, emotional, or learning disabilities in inclusionary or special settings. Creating a culture of "Everyone Learning Every Day".
Qualifications: Minimum 60 college credit hours or completion of the Paraprofessional Test or Para Pro Assessment. Pass all background checks and screenings.
Reports To: Building Principal and Student Services Director

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Modifying, adapting, and reinforcing lessons taught by the classroom teacher
- Assist teachers by organizing classroom activities, preparing materials, and supervising students during lessons or activities
- Implementing behavioral intervention plans and providing behavioral support
- Help execute specific accommodations and modifications outlined in a student's IEP, such as providing one-on-one support or facilitating assistive technology use
- Supporting students with physical needs, health, and safety
- Help students engage with peers, manage social situations confidently (e.g., making friends), and build meaningful relationships
- Provide essential care, such as feeding, toileting, or mobility support for some students
- Recording data on student progress and behavior
- Using a hierarchy of prompts (visual, verbal, physical) to encourage student independence
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Building Principal, Student Services Director and other Central Office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Terms of Employment: 181 days; 7.5 hrs / day. Does not include a 30 minute lunch. Pay range: Starting at $17.06 (plus credit for up to 7 years of relevant experience). Benefits include Board paid health insurance, paid sick leave, retirement and other.
Evaluations: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Support Staff.
