Skilled Right Of Way Document SpecialistOverview: Skilled Right of Way Document Specialist to support Alabama Power Land Acquisition activities with a background in filling, scanning, conducting research and data entry and document preparation. Title research experience and/or ability to read and understand land descriptions and terminology related to deeds, easements, and other conveyance documents is preferred.
Responsibilities to include:Support for multiple acquisition projects across Alabama Power Service Territory, including administrative support needs for team members (schedule meetings, process invoices, timekeeping administration)Assures files are kept in accordance with land procedures and ensures supporting data is being input into document management system accurately for file closeoutPrepares pre-survey lists in support of acquisition projectsAssists with landowner mailouts and tracks certified mail receiptsAssembles project files in accordance with land acquisition proceduresProcesses online recordation of acquisition documents in appropriate countiesAssists with title research at county courthouses in APC Service Territory when online option not availableAssists with document recordation at county courthouses in APC Service Territory with online option not availablePerforms landowner verification through online title researchPerforms document research in document management systemPerforms quality control and updates in document management systemPrepares acquisition documentation for execution by Right of Way agentsReviews executed documentation for accuracy and completenessFiles and or retrieves documentation in Alabama Power document file vaultSkills:2-5 years of experience as a document specialist with experience in land rights related fields Title experience or ability to read/understand land conveyance documentsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsEffective communication skillsDetail oriented, adaptable to changing priorities, able to effectively multi-task across a geographically diverse teamMust be able to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness; ability to work well under stress and time pressuresRequired to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch; must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds, using good judgmentMust have a valid driver licenseEEO: "Mindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of – Minority/Gender/Disability/Religion/LGBTQI/Age/Veterans."
