Document Control AssistantLocation: Kansas City, MOOnsite Flexibility: OnsiteContract DetailsPosition Type: ContractContract Duration: Year-long contract-to-hire with strong potential for extension or conversionPay Rate: $22.00–$26.00 / Hour (USD)Shift / Schedule: First shift (days), 5 days per week onsiteWork Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Job SummaryThis position will assist the document control team and Project Managers to deliver quality materials and input information on engineering projects. Responsible for set-up for multiple small projects; assist on medium and larger sized projects as needed.

This role supports multiple engineering and construction projects by managing project documentation across several systems. The individual will work closely with project engineers, vendors, and clients to ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and properly archived. This is a 100% onsite position based in the Kansas City office.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the document control team and Project Managers to deliver quality materials and input information on engineering projectsReceive documents from Engineers and shop drawings from vendorsPerform quality checks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to standardsUpload, manage, and maintain documents within multiple document management platformsSupport Project Engineers and clients across multiple concurrent projectsManage documentation for an average of 5–6 projects, each with approximately 20 contracts per projectResponsible for set-up for multiple small projects; assist on medium and larger sized projects as neededCollaborates to set-up the standards and procedures for the teamCommunicate document system procedures with team membersCoordinate documents with multiple engineers for project needsCompile electronic project data booksIssue transmittals to clients and vendorsProcess vendor submittalsPackage electronic documents for clients, vendors, and internal needsEnsure all documents leaving the system are accurate and follow established proceduresNotify appropriate person of troubleshooting issues regarding vendors and clientsMonitor workflows for the project teamAdapt to evolving client requirements, processes, and prioritiesMaintain high levels of integrity, organization, and attention to detailPerform other duties as assignedComply with all policies and standardsRequired SkillsStrong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)Highly detail-oriented, accurate, and process-drivenAbility to work across multiple platforms simultaneouslyAccurate data entry skillsStrong adaptability — ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and processesCustomer service–oriented mindsetProfessional demeanor with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyTeam player with strong problem-solving skillsPreferred SkillsDocument control or document management experience (2–5 years ideal)Experience with Hexagon SDX / SDS, ACONEX, STX, Procore, or SharePointEngineering or construction industry experienceArchiving or records management experienceResearch-based roles as a substitute for formal document control experienceComputer savvy and comfortable learning new systemsHighly adaptable and quick on their feetTakes ownership and pride in their workSelf-motivated with a strong sense of accountabilityComfortable working with stakeholders ranging from engineers to executive-level professionalsConstruction or engineering company backgroundEducation RequirementsHigh School Diploma/GED and 3 years applicable experience Required, ORApplicable experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
