Remote Full Time Legal

About the Role

We're looking for a Docketing Specialist to own comprehensive litigation and non-litigation calendaring across our firm's matters, keeping every deadline tracked, every entry accurate, and every attorney informed before a risk becomes a problem. This is a fully remote position, and we require candidates based in the Central time zone, working Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM CST.

About the Firm

We're one of the top 100 law firms in the country, built on more than five decades of full-service litigation, business law, and government relations work for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to high-growth startups. We've grown fast because we treat operational precision — not just legal strategy — as core to how we serve clients. Docketing sits at the center of that: it's the function that keeps the rest of the firm safe to move quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the integrity of our firm's automated docket system, supporting every practice area with calendar entries built to firm standards and procedures
  • Research court rules, practice guides, and governing law to determine filing deadlines — discovery responses, motion responses, pre-trial deadlines, depositions, and court appearances
  • Maintain close communication with attorneys, paralegals, and practice assistants to fully understand each calendaring assignment
  • Escalate emerging calendar issues to the Managing Attorney and Office Manager before they become deadline risks
  • Attach Complaints, Charges, Scheduling Orders, and related documents to docketing events for reference
  • Create, review, and distribute calendar and docket reports, filed into the correct workspace
  • Update case names, venues, jurisdictions, case numbers, and responsible attorneys as matters evolve
  • Respond to attorney, paralegal, and secretary requests regarding calendared events and compliance date changes
  • Train lawyers, paralegals, and secretaries on reading docketing reports and using the firm's docketing application
  • Back up fellow Docketing team members as needed
  • Support litigation department operations day to day

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in a similar docketing role at a law firm, ideally supporting multiple offices or practice areas
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary degree preferred
  • Proficient across Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management systems
  • Substantial experience computing calendar deadlines for state, federal, and appellate courts
  • Strong grasp of litigation processes, court rules, and multi-jurisdictional procedures
  • Sharp attention to detail — the kind that catches a miscalculated deadline before it matters
  • Comfortable managing shifting priorities and turnaround deadlines without losing accuracy
  • Independent judgment and ownership mentality; you don't wait to be told twice
  • Familiarity with PACER and Electronic Court Filing (ECF) systems

What We Offer

  • Fully remote work, Central time zone hours
  • $60,000–$80,000, based on experience and qualifications
  • A firm that invests in getting the operational details right, not just the legal wins
