Job Title: Divisional Controller

Industry: Manufacturing

Position Overview

The Divisional Controller will serve as a strategic financial leader for the division, overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and compliance. This role is critical in driving financial performance, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting operational decision‑making for a publicly traded manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the division’s accounting and FP&A functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives.

Month‑End Close & Reporting

  • Oversee and manage the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Oversee annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
  • Provide actionable insights and variance analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.

Operational Support

  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to optimize cost structures and improve profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and corporate governance standards.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Build and mentor a high‑performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles in accounting and FP&A.
  • Prior experience in a publicly traded company and manufacturing environment is required.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Expertise in month‑end close and audit processes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
