Overview
East Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University invite an accomplished physician to serve as Division Chief of Sleep Medicine. The role offers an opportunity to strengthen clinical programs, expand educational and scholarly missions, and shape the future of Sleep Medicine during a period of significant institutional growth.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic and administrative leadership for the Division, including recruitment, mentorship, and development of faculty. Lead and enhance the ACGME‑accredited one‑year Sleep Medicine Fellowship program that spans multiple affiliated training and care sites. Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across ODU, Sentara Health System, and the Veterans Health Administration. Promote clinical excellence, educational impact, and scholarly activity within the Division.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Sleep Medicine.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in an academic or academic‑affiliated setting.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Demonstrated commitment to education, clinical excellence, and academic leadership.
- Experience with fellowship training and curriculum development is highly desirable.
