Position Description:
Assist the classroom teacher with performing duties necessary to meet the educational needs of an individual or group of students. The Educational Assistant's primary focus is on directly serving students or preparing for meeting the students' needs. Maintain day-to-day dealings with staff and students. This position also supports lunchroom supervision.
Requirements:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); an Associate's degree is preferred. Read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Mobility and ability to lift and/or assist individuals who weigh up to 50 pounds. Hearing, speech, and sight are required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Present information in one-to-one and small group situations to students, parents, and/or staff. Provide a variety of suggestions for working with students in the special education setting. Maintain flexibility in day-to-day dealings with staff and students. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students. Perform duties within a tight daily schedule and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Rate of Pay:
$15.45 - $16.22/hour depending on assignment
