Role Description The District Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Valdosta, GA, responsible for overseeing multiple Dollar Tree store locations within an assigned district. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and coaching Store Managers, ensuring consistent execution of company standards, and driving sales and profitability across all stores. The District Manager monitors key performance indicators, manages staffing levels, and oversees recruitment, training, and development of store leadership teams. This role ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards, while maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency. The District Manager also analyzes business trends, implements action plans to improve performance, and partners with corporate teams to support new initiatives and growth.
Qualifications
- Leadership and team management skills, including experience supervising multi-unit retail or service operations and coaching store-level leaders.
- Operational management skills, such as inventory control, merchandising, scheduling, and implementing company policies and procedures.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret financial reports, analyze sales trends, and develop strategies to drive revenue and profitability.
- Customer service and people-focused skills, including the ability to build inclusive teams, resolve escalated customer issues, and maintain high service standards.
- Organizational and planning skills, with experience prioritizing multiple locations, managing time effectively, and executing district-level initiatives.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to diverse audiences and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Proficiency with common office and retail technologies (e.g., POS systems, MS Office or similar tools) and comfort using data to support decisions.
- Ability to travel regularly within the district, work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends, and meet physical demands of in-store visits.
- Previous experience in retail management, preferably in discount or value-focused environments; multi-unit experience strongly preferred.
