Overview

As a District Manager for our Lake Management Company, you will oversee operations and growth across assigned districts, ensuring high‑standard lake and pond management services. You’ll lead a team of professionals, drive operational efficiency, and foster strong client relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of district operations including lake assessments, vegetation management, water quality testing, and aquatic habitat restoration.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to meet district goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and manage district budgets, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to lake and pond management.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of lake technicians and specialists.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients within the district, addressing inquiries, concerns, and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to upsell or cross‑sell additional services to existing clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop proposals and participate in client presentations.
  • Ensure that all services provided meet the company's quality standards and exceed client expectations.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to assess the effectiveness of lake management activities.
  • Implement corrective actions as needed to address any issues or deficiencies.
  • Prepare regular reports on district performance, including key metrics, financial analysis, and operational updates.
  • Analyze data trends and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Provide recommendations for strategic initiatives and process enhancements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in lake and pond management, including aquatic vegetation control, water quality management, and habitat restoration.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in lake and pond management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Valid driver’s license from state of residence and willingness to travel within the assigned district as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or related field (highly desired); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in lake and pond management, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
