Must Haves:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of electric utility distribution engineering experience.
- Experience designing overhead (OH) and/or underground (UG) power distribution systems.
- Experience supporting utility infrastructure projects from design through construction.
- Strong understanding of utility construction packages, including drawings, one-line diagrams, bills of material, and permitting documentation.
- Experience working with utility engineering standards and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal teams, field personnel, and utility clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using SAP.
Day to Day: The Distribution Engineer II will support utility distribution projects, ranging from simple service upgrades to large-scale rebuild and tie-line programs. This individual will work alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to design, review, and deliver overhead and underground electric distribution projects.
- Design overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
- Develop construction drawings, engineering packages, and bills of material.
- Perform line routing, conductor selection, pole loading analysis, and engineering calculations.
- Create and review one-line diagrams and project documentation.
- Support permitting, right-of-way, and municipal approval requirements.
- Coordinate design reviews and quality assurance activities prior to project submission.
- Work closely with distribution, transmission, substation, renewable energy, and communications engineering teams.
- Travel to project sites as needed to collect field data and support project execution.
