The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer focused on developing our infrastructure platform for Creative Compute & Storage Software Services, you will play a key role in the design and implementation of solutions which improve our ability to manage a worldwide platform in support of cutting‑edge creative workflows, enhancing our global control plane, and efficiently orchestrating infrastructure resources to maximize their impact. In this role, you’ll collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, product, and creative teams to develop world‑class studio solutions that power the next generation of content creation.

Areas of Work

  • Designing orchestration of compute, disk, network, and other resources across globally distributed systems
  • Integrating with core Netflix technologies and third‑party solutions to deliver a cloud provider for studio needs
  • Developing and advancing core VM, container, network, and storage technologies to support complex creative workflows

Required Skills

  • Have 5+ years of expertise in Go, Java, or similar object‑oriented languages, with confidence and experience in debugging and problem‑solving
  • Have a demonstrated history in designing, constructing, and managing large distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and performance that are spread across multiple global regions and networks
  • Have solid experience in setting technical directions for engineering projects, making architectural decisions, and influencing partner and cross‑functional teams
  • Familiarity with Linux and Linux systems programming
  • Experience with IaaS providers such as AWS, GCP, and VMware

Bonus Skills

  • Proficient with gRPC API design and implementation
  • Working experience with Kubernetes and PaaS offerings such as Heroku and CloudFoundry
  • Working experience with KVM, QEMU, libvirt, OpenFlow, Open vSwitch

Compensation and Benefits

Netflix provides a comprehensive benefits package including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family‑forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. Paid leave of absence programs are also available. Full‑time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off. The salary range for this role is $388,000.00 – $619,000.00.
