Dispatch CoordinatorAVA Pork Products, a leading manufacturer and distributor for quality beef and pork products is currently seeking a Transportation/Dispatch Coordinator. Our offices, manufacturing, and distribution center is in Hicksville, New York.Job Responsibilities:Setting up and administering daily dispatch operationsDispatching drivers for pick-ups and deliveriesTracking drivers to facilitate the timely delivery of containers to their destinationProviding customers with information on services, rates, equipment availability, and shipment statusConfirming proper bookings and billings to meet customer requirementsUtilizing web-based platform, update pick-ups/deliveries and enter customer order informationAnswering driver and customer calls; send and respond to emails related to shipmentsRecord & monitor schedules for inbound and outbound deliveriesDaily communication with outside carriers, including but not limited to scheduling of appointmentsMaintain reports and databasesData entryValidation of documentsOther administrative duties as assigned by ManagerJob Requirements:Five (5+) years of Warehouse/Distribution experience preferredThis is an overnight shift (2am – noon)Knowledge of DOT regulationsAttention to detail and organizedExceptional verbal & written communication skillsAbility to prioritize and multi-task, take initiative and achieve resultsComputer skills with experience using Excel, Word & OutlookThis is a policy & procedure driven departmentThis is a full-time position with company benefits including medical, 401k, paid holidays, etc.Only qualified candidates will be considered.
