Dishwasher

ALTBAU is a new bakery, cafe, and community space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, led by Chad Robertson, founder of Tartine Bakery, opening in Fall 2026. We're looking for reliable, hardworking dishwashers to join our opening team.

As a Dishwasher, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our bakery and kitchens clean, organized, and running smoothly throughout the day. You’ll work closely with our bread, pastry, savory, and broader kitchen teams to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kicten and working environment.

Expected Start Date: Third week of October 2026

What You'll Do

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, baking trays, and kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing, kitchen, and storage areas throughout the day.
• Remove trash and recycling and keep waste areas clean and orderly.
• Assist with general kitchen upkeep and end-of-day cleaning procedures.
• Work efficiently to maintain a clean, organized environment and support the flow of daily kitchen operations.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards at all times.

What We're Looking For

• Previous kitchen, dishwashing, or porter experience required.
• Comfortable working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Ability to work independently while also working well as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and able to follow instructions consistently.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

What We Offer

• $17-19/hour, based on experience *

This is the expected hourly range for the position. Final pay is based on experience and other job-related factors.
