Working remotely, the full-time Disability Benefit Specialist will evaluate claims, determine benefit eligibility, and guide employees towards successful return-to-work strategies while managing a caseload of short-term and long-term disability claims. Key responsibilities Manage assigned caseload of disability claims and communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information Apply contractual provisions and case management resources to ensure accurate eligibility requirements and liability decisions Provide superior customer service by rendering timely benefit determinations and participating in claim reviews with specialized resources Required qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required 2+ years of experience in short-term and long-term disability claims adjudication Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures Ability to work independently while utilizing various technical resources
