Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Disability Benefit Specialist will evaluate claims, determine benefit eligibility, and guide employees toward successful return-to-work strategies while managing a caseload of disability claims. Key responsibilities Manages assigned caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims, ensuring accurate eligibility and liability decisions Communicates with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information and provide superior customer service Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients and management while ensuring a seamless transition from STD to LTD claims Required qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication Knowledge of ERISA regulations and experience with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus Aptitude for learning medical terminology and interpreting related procedures and regulations Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and web-based systems
