Our approach is process‑driven, aimed at stabilizing, rehabilitating, and restructuring the situation so that stakeholders can create value and maximize recoveries.

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting a Director to join our Turnaround & Restructuring (T&R) team. This role could be located in New York, Dallas, or Chicago with potential for other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Critique and provide guidance on complex analyses
  • Independently identify patterns in complex data and drive hypotheses
  • Independently develop an understanding of analytic tools including and outside of Excel, working directly with the client to obtain relevant data
  • Independently disaggregate complex problems into simpler parts
  • Actively challenge assumptions and hypotheses
  • Understand complex corporate finance and accounting concepts
  • Analyze risks to existing or proposed covenant packages
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of different credit products
  • Understand various restructuring concepts informed by engagement experience and clearly articulate those views to others
  • Drive the team to develop an understanding of analytic tools including and outside of Excel
  • Have an experienced/informed view on how to approach building common Excel‑based analyses (cash‑flow forecast, financial statement model)
  • Understand key elements of bankruptcy case management
  • Help set priorities across multiple work streams
  • Coordinate with the team on schedules to meet agreed upon deadlines
  • Identify key milestones and manage accordingly
  • Directly manage the work of Associates and Senior Associates
  • Lay out an effective approach to a presentation with guidance from more senior teammates
  • Prepare full decks and present sections of a report both internally and to clients
  • Present effectively to C‑Suite level clients and other professionals regarding basic and moderately complex analyses/issues
  • Handle client interactions at multiple levels
  • Provide guidance and feedback to early career professionals
  • Maintain constant communication with senior professionals to ensure coordination of activities and manage expectations

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience with a top‑tier management consulting firm
  • An undergraduate degree from a top academic institution with a strong GPA
  • Advanced degree(s) and applicable professional certification(s) are preferred (CFA, CIRA, CPA)
  • Restructuring experience preferred and/or relevant financial consulting experience including M&A transaction advisory and/or investment banking
  • Ability and willingness to undertake extensive travel
  • Willingness to work long hours during the week and on weekends due to client demands
  • Experience with analytical tools and financial analyses that demonstrate an understanding of competing needs (timing, flexibility, detail, risk) with limited direction
  • Experience with financial modeling preferably with three‑statement analysis and/or thirteen‑week cash‑flow models
  • Identify and articulate opportunities for more advanced analytic approaches outside of basic Excel
  • Demonstrate ability to contribute to identification of key issues
  • Understand concepts of data patterns and trends
  • Exhibit critical thinking and problem‑solving capability
  • Demonstrate ability to synthesize analysis and draw conclusions

Compensation

For individuals assigned to locations in California, Colorado, or New York, a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this role is between $85,000 and $200,000. This range is an estimate and is not a promise of a particular wage. Additional benefits beyond salary are not included in this range.
