Ellsworth Corporation is a global, industry-leading distributor of specialty chemicals and adhesive manufacturer. This role reports to corporate headquarters in Germantown, WI and requires an in-office/hybrid work schedule.

The Director, Total Rewards will design, implement, and manage comprehensive total rewards programs that align with company goals, attract top talent, and enhance employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organization’s total rewards strategy (compensation, HRIS, benefits) aligning with business objectives and company culture.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals in compensation, benefits, and HRIS.
  • Design and manage competitive salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and pay equity analyses to maintain competitiveness and compliance.
  • Evaluate, design, and manage employee benefit programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and other ancillary benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and manage relationships with external vendors and brokers.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in developing and managing complex total rewards strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive positive employee experience using Total Rewards programs.
  • Strong partnership, communication, and influence skills across all levels, including senior leaders and external partners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with an emphasis on active listening.
  • Proactive problem solving: identify issues, develop multiple solutions, present recommendations to achieve ROI.
  • Occasional domestic travel.
