The Company is a leading national provider of professional vehicle relocation services, with a primary focus on large corporate fleets, fleet management companies, upfitters, dealerships and vehicle OEMs with fast, safe and reliable door-to-door driveaway and trucked transportation service nationwide. The Company’s services include fleet shipping and fleet management services; single vehicle “door-to-door driveaway” shipping; expedited shipping; enclosed carrier shipping for high-value vehicles; international (overseas) shipping; short-term and long-term vehicle storage; licensing, titling and registration of vehicles; and vehicle maintenance and reconditioning services.

Position

The Company is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented leader to oversee its Title & Registration department. The Director, Title & Registration, will lead a skilled team responsible for processing title and registration transactions for the Company’s customers while also remaining actively involved in complex transactions, escalations and day-to-day problem solving. This individual will be responsible for maintaining high standards of accuracy, responsiveness and customer service; supporting and developing the department’s employees; maintaining strong working relationships with vendors and government agencies; and identifying practical opportunities to improve processes, technology and transaction throughput. The successful candidate will be organized, hands-on and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operating environment.

Role & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, manage and develop a high-performing team responsible for accurately and efficiently processing title and registration transactions for the Company’s customers.
  • Communicate proactively with customers, internal stakeholders and external partners regarding transaction status, documentation requirements, anticipated timelines and outstanding issues.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of state and local title & registration rules, regulations, and processes and build internal reference materials.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with tag agents, electronic processing providers, state and local agencies, and other outside partners.
  • Complete title & registration transactions using the Company’s technology tools and system integrations.
  • Resolve complex title and registration matters, documentation deficiencies and customer escalations in a timely and practical manner.
  • Develop and maintain consistent workflows, controls and procedures to promote accuracy, compliance and efficient transaction processing.
  • Establish and monitor service standards and department performance measures, including transaction accuracy, turnaround time, backlog and customer responsiveness.
  • Identify and implement practical process and technology improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, profitability and transaction throughput.
  • Participate in customer presentations and business reviews, representing the title & registration department.
  • Manage the department’s budget and financial performance (i.e., P&L responsibility), with accountability for controlling costs and supporting profitable growth.
  • Assume responsibility and leadership for additional projects, as assigned.
  • Help strengthen the Company’s reputation as the driveaway company of choice across the United States.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Title & Registration experience, preferably involving multi-state or high-volume transactions.
  • Significant experience working with Department of Motor Vehicles or other licensing agencies required.
  • Strong knowledge of state vehicle licensing, titling, and regulations required.
  • Experience handling multi-jurisdictional and business-to-business licensing and title transactions expected.
  • Experience in the automotive, fleet management, vehicle relocation or transportation industries strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a team and cultivating talent.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and drive for achieving results.
  • Passionate about customer experience and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and comfort working with transaction-processing and workflow systems.
  • Working knowledge of process development, operational excellence, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, recognizing a sense of urgency and self-motivation.
