About the Role
The Director, Technology Services (IT) , providesleadership, direction, and accountability for AMC’s IT operations,engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, service delivery, and ITvendor portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring secure,reliable and scalable technology services that support AMC’s businessoperations and client needs.
The Director leads a team of senior technical and operationalleaders, setting priorities, managing risk, allocating resources, anddriving continuous improvement across the technology portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Technology Operations & Service Delivery Leadership
- Provide leadership and accountability for AMC’s IT operations,help desk performance, and IT service management practices.
- Ensure infrastructure performance, reliability, businesscontinuity, and disaster recovery needs are appropriatelyprioritized, resourced, documented, and reviewed.
- Establish documentation and governance standards acrossinfrastructure, security, architecture, and operations whilemonitoring technology performance and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Engineering and Technical Leadership
- Provide strategic direction and executive sponsorship fortechnology architecture, SaaS integration, workflow automation, dataarchitecture, and modernization planning.
- Ensure engineering standards and technical roadmaps are alignedwith business needs, cybersecurity requirements, operationalreadiness, and product delivery priorities.
- Identify and prioritize modernization initiatives, automationopportunities, and emerging technologies.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Oversee cybersecurity operations, vulnerability management,incident response readiness, remediation planning, and securitytooling strategy.
- Translate external assessments and recommendations into actionable plans.
- Sponsor the selection and governance of security technologiesensuring implementation by the appropriate technical owners.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to mitigatetechnology risks and ensure compliance with security requirements.
Financial and Vendor Management
- Own the Technology Services (IT) budget, including capitalexpenditures, operating expenses, licensing, contracts, and staffing.
- Recommend technology investments aligned with business priorities.
- Provide portfolio-level leadership for AMC’s IT vendor landscapeacross infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, telephony, endpoint,and productivity platforms.
- Maintain visibility into IT licensing, subscriptions, hardwareleases, and vendor spend.
- Support long-term planning for infrastructure modernization,technical debt reduction, cybersecurity maturity, and vendor cost management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with IT team and client leaders to align technologypriorities, engineering capacity, infrastructure readiness, andsecurity requirements with product delivery.
- Serve as a trusted advisor across AMC on technology strategy,operational resilience, cybersecurity, and technology investments.
Managerial Responsibilities
- Directly lead a team of senior functional leaders acrossengineering, service delivery, data, and vendor and configurationmanagement, navigating a matrixed structure that includesdotted-line technical leadership from the Senior Technical Architect.
Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems,engineering, business, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience
- 5+ years of experience managing teams, senior professionals, ormatrixed technical functions
- Demonstrated ability to lead through functional experts ratherthan personally performing all technical work
- Experience overseeing several of the following: technologyoperations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, vendor management, andservice delivery
- Strong budgeting, strategic planning and people leadership skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to executiveleadership and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in client-services, managed services, multi-tenant,association management, consulting, nonprofit, or higher education
- Experience leading or sponsoring cybersecurity, infrastructuremodernization, digital transformation, or cloud initiatives
- ITIL, CISSP, CISM, Azure Security Engineer, AWS or similar credentials
Travel and Physical Requirements
- Minimal travel, primarily within the Chicago area for on-site AMCneeds, vendor meetings, or client-related activity.
- This role is primarily desk-based and involves extended computeruse, including typing, data review, and virtual communication.Occasional light lifting may be required. AMC provides reasonableaccommodation to support employees in performing the essentialfunctions of the role.

Compensation
- $165K-$185K annually. Within the range, individual pay isdetermined by relevant factors, including job-related skills,experience, market data, work location, and education or training.
Location
- This is a hybrid role in Schaumburg, IL. Employees who residewithin 50 miles of the office are expected to work onsite one dayper month. At times, there may be circumstances that requireadditional visits to the office.
- Out-of-state candidates may be considered for a remoteopportunity, depending on the state in which they reside.
