Onsite Full Time Finance

  • Interpret and apply tax law to ensure HCSC and subsidiaries comply with federal, state, and local income tax laws
  • Prepare and timely file necessary federal, state, and local income tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, False Claims Act, Sarbanes-Oxley corporate governance, and accounting principles
  • Implement tax and fixed asset processes related to mergers, acquisitions, and start-up activities
  • Calculate and report income tax expense, liabilities, and deferred tax assets or liabilities
  • Maintain and report HCSC’s fixed asset capital base
  • Perform perpetual physical inventories, tax engineering, and cost segregation studies where appropriate
  • Represent HCSC and subsidiaries before the IRS and state regulatory agencies
  • Represent HCSC and subsidiaries within the BCBS system and other organizations
  • Develop, train, and mentor staff
  • Comply with corporate and departmental policies
  • Maintain confidentiality of company business
  • Communicate with management regarding assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  • 10 years of tax experience
  • 5 years proven supervisory experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local income tax law
  • Understanding of Statutory Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Leadership ability with sound decision-making talent
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and project management abilities
  • Working knowledge of Corp Tax and PeopleSoft platforms
  • Ability to oversee the annual budget and allocate resources for projects and operational needs
  • Ability to translate needs and initiatives into compelling business cases
  • Ability to conduct cost-benefit analyses to justify investments and ensure ROI
  • CPA designation or Master Degree in Tax (preferred)
  • Experience with Alteryx, Oracle Cloud, and Premium Pro (preferred)
  • Experience with CorpTax (preferred)
  • Automation tools experience (preferred)
  • Tax controversy experience (preferred)

Demonstrates expertise in federal, state, and local income tax law compliance, along with strong leadership and project management skills. Proficient in tax return preparation, fixed asset management, and effective communication with regulatory agencies.
