Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, with significant expertise in C/C++ on Linux
- 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles managing multiple teams
- Proven experience designing and owning large-scale, high-performance, low-latency systems
- Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, systems programming, and network protocols (TCP/IP, Multicast)
- Hands-on experience with multithreading and real-time systems
- Familiarity with scripting, automation, and AI-assisted coding tools
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience within regulated financial environments is preferred
Responsibilities
- Own and direct the end-to-end architecture and development of NYSE's trading systems
- Lead, mentor, and build high-performing engineering teams
- Translate business objectives into technical strategies and execution plans
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and performance metrics
- Drive technical innovation and evaluate emerging technologies
- Oversee operational reliability, incident management, and systemic improvements
- Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to align on strategic goals
- Ensure regulatory compliance and system availability for mission-critical trading infrastructure
