A global financial markets organization is seeking a senior subject‑matter expert to lead initiatives focused on the prudential treatment, risk management, and capital framework for securities financing markets . This role sits within a cross-disciplinary team responsible for analyzing regulatory developments, producing technical research, and supporting industry alignment on risk and capital topics impacting secured financing activities across jurisdictions.

The team works closely with market participants, supervisory bodies, and technical experts to promote risk-sensitive approaches, resilient market structure, and effective risk management practices in both cleared and bilateral markets.

The Role

This Director‑level position will lead global workstreams related to the capital and risk framework applicable to securities financing transactions (SFTs) and secured funding markets. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical capability, and the ability to translate complex prudential standards into practical insights for market participants.

The individual will collaborate with policy, legal, collateral, infrastructure, and data specialists to ensure consistent interpretation of regulatory developments and support practical implementation across institutions and jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical analysis of the prudential capital and exposure framework as it relates to securities financing transactions and secured funding activities.
  • Monitor and assess global supervisory and regulatory developments affecting SFT markets and balance sheet exposures.
  • Conduct and contribute to quantitative impact assessments , calibration analysis, and scenario‑based evaluations of regulatory capital effects.
  • Support development of industry guidance, technical papers, and educational materials addressing capital, exposure measurement, and risk management practices.
  • Facilitate cross‑industry working groups comprising risk, treasury, collateral, operations, and legal experts.
  • Engage with supervisory authorities, market infrastructures, peer associations, and financial institutions to support constructive dialogue on market structure and prudential design.
  • Partner with internal policy and technical teams to ensure alignment between regulatory interpretation, market practice, and operational implementation.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and prioritization of policy initiatives related to secured financing and balance sheet efficiency.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory capital, counterparty exposure measurement, and balance sheet risk within wholesale financial markets.
  • Deep familiarity with securities financing transactions (e.g., repo, securities lending, margin financing) and associated collateral mechanics.
  • Ability to analyze complex prudential standards and translate them into practical impact assessments.
  • Advanced analytical, research, and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Proven experience leading technical working groups or cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience producing technical or policy‑focused materials.
  • Confident communicator comfortable engaging with senior market practitioners and regulatory stakeholders.

Desired Background

  • 10+ years’ experience in securities financing markets, treasury capital analytics, counterparty credit risk, or regulatory policy.
  • Experience interpreting prudential standards and assessing impacts on secured financing or derivatives‑related exposures.
  • Exposure to quantitative impact studies, stress analysis, or capital framework assessments.
  • Background in banking, market infrastructure, regulatory bodies, or industry policy organizations preferred.
  • Degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related discipline; advanced credentials (e.g., FRM, CFA, accounting or risk qualifications) beneficial.
