Title:Director, School Planningfor DC Public Schools

Expected Salary Range:$115,320 - $130,146

Type: Full-time, based in DC with an option towork from home two days per week

Responsibilities:

  • Drives development and execution of district-wide program strategy through data collection and analysis.
  • Manages the analysis and presentation of data for internal and external audiences; communicates progress to key stakeholder groups and incorporates their input.
  • Facilitates leadership’s decision-making by analyzing and presenting relevant information and data, at times on extremely complex, difficult, controversial, or sensitive issues.
  • Identifies and systematizes successful operational and project management methods across the department with an emphasis on recording historical trends in enrollment and academic outcomes.
  • Works within and across divisions and with agency partners to improve and systematize DCPS’ data-sharing practices for both internal and external stakeholders, including creating dashboards, reports, and other data visualizations.
  • Represents DCPS at community engagements.Maintains high level of transparency with community through consistent communications and trusting relationships.
  • Manages School Planning special projects, including equity initiatives, charter school collaboration, and partner organization conversations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and five to seven years of related work experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with data systems structure and administration (QuickBase).
  • Proficient in synthesizing and leveraging large data sets through Excel, databases, and other platforms.
  • Experience with R or other sophisticated analytical and mapping software.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models and database design development; and strong knowledge of database reporting technologies and best practices preferred.
  • Previous experience in the education sector a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
