Overview

As the Great Wolf Director of Sales and Catering, your focus is to manage and grow relationships to exceed guest satisfaction while meeting revenue goals. You will set the revenue-generating strategies for soliciting, booking, managing, and overseeing sales and conference service teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accomplish sales objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Take overall responsibility for total group revenue strategies, implementation, and results, including group rooms, group food and beverage, meeting room rental, and other group revenues assigned by the corporate director of sales.
  • Leverage the sales team to execute sales strategies to meet financial targets.
  • Meet financial objectives by maximizing profitability for the lodge through forecasting requirements, preparing an annual performance budget, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
  • Determine annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing sales quotas for various market segments, projecting expected sales volume and revenue, analyzing trends, establishing pricing strategies, recommending rate strategies, and monitoring costs, competition, and product demand.
  • Accomplish sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating field sales action plans.
  • Sustain rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs, and anticipating new opportunities.
  • Represent the lodge in resolving complaints from groups and group attendees, including billing and reservations issues.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate degree in Sales, Communications, Marketing, Business, or Hotel Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, event planning, and/or catering.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience in hospitality.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Successful completion of a Department of Motor Vehicle check.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements

Estimated Salary Range

$ - $ annual base salary.

Salary is based on factors such as education, qualifications, certification, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, and business needs. The range is only one component of the total compensation package, which may also include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and other perks.
