Job Title: Director, Retail Merchandise

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Global Head of Retail & Licensing and the Senior Director of Retail to strategize and execute large, diverse retail programs across our roster.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across creative, production, brand management and finance to resolve issues and queries.
  • Request product setups and communicate regularly with the production team to ensure orders are successfully fulfilled.
  • Send product setups to retailers in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the creative and brand management teams regarding the creative decks needed to serve our retailers.
  • Lead real‑time communication with 10+ accounts/vendors to maintain VIP customer service.
  • Track all buyer requests and preferences.
  • Drive a large portion of the department’s sales and ensure we deliver on margin expectations.
  • Manage order approval requests, including receiving order requests from buyers and obtaining approval from product managers for each retailer; monitor and communicate approval completion and escalating pending requests weekly.
  • Submit art requests to the creative team, including receiving design requests from buyers, entering design/art requests and revisions, ensuring completion per buyer direction, and communicating revisions with buyers.
  • Provide additional sales and administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable track record in a similar role.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales/account management.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with excellent commercial acumen.
  • Experience presenting complex proposals to new and existing partners; dynamic presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a large varied team.
  • Experience managing high‑volume buyer requests.
  • Background in music merchandising or the fashion/apparel industry.
  • In‑depth knowledge of retail math and sales.
  • Positive attitude with strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and communication skills.
  • Extremely proactive work ethic and ability to multi‑task.
  • Enjoys problem solving and perseveres to reach goals.
  • Self‑starter with many ideas; excited to share vision and creativity.
  • Contacts within the retail & licensing industry.
  • High proficiency in Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in music or entertainment.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Experience with EDI.

This position requires a minimum of 4 days per week in the office. We value in‑office collaboration, which is essential for talent development and strong working relationships.

Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 Annually

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
