This individual is a strategic and execution-focused leader who partners closely with Account teams to build and maintain accurate work projections, prioritize initiatives, and ensure the portfolio remains operationally sound and financially healthy.The Director, Project Management is ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of high-quality work that drives client satisfaction, meets business objectives, and balances client and agency economics. This role leads and mentors a multi-skilled team of Project Managers while driving operational excellence across the business.ResponsibilitiesPartner with Account and Marketing teams to provide clear, proactive, and consistent communication to clients and effectively manage expectationsReview projects across assigned account(s) to assess resource and skill requirements and ensure appropriate staffing alignmentPartner with Resource Management and Functional Department Leads to manage fluctuating resource needs across the portfolioLead project status reviews and facilitate cross-functional post-mortem sessions to drive continuous improvementDevelop and oversee risk mitigation plans for large-scale and complex engagementsServe as a collaborative business partner to capability leads to evolve workflows and improve operational efficienciesPrioritize work in progress (WIP) with functional leads and Account teams to proactively address bottlenecks and maintain momentumManage portfolio budgets and communicate revenue shifts or financial risks to senior leadershipAct as the escalation point for vendor management concerns and production-related issuesIdentify and remove barriers to project success while ensuring projects remain on trackOversee workload distribution across the portfolio and facilitate resolution of complex production discussions with clientsPartner closely with Account teams during client discussions related to timelines, production challenges, and project tradeoffsCollaborate with Resourcing to adjust client workload priorities across the portfolio as business needs evolveScope and estimate complex, integrated, multi-channel engagements and review all estimates prior to client deliveryRegularly review team workloads, billings, actuals, utilization, and staffing plans to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiencyDrive organization, information sharing, and alignment across functional departments and Account teamsMentor, manage, and develop Project Management team members to strengthen overall performance, productivity, and operational excellenceQualifications8+ years of project management experience, preferably within a healthcare advertising, pharmaceutical, medical communications, or agency environmentProven experience leading large-scale, integrated, multi-channel programs and portfoliosDemonstrated success managing and developing high-performing project management teamsStrong understanding of agency operations, workflow management, resourcing, forecasting, and financial trackingExpertise in scoping, estimating, budgeting, and portfolio managementAbility to navigate complex client relationships and lead conversations around timelines, production considerations, and business tradeoffsExceptional organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsProven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environmentExperience collaborating cross-functionally with Account, Creative, Strategy, Production, and Functional Department LeadsProficiency with project management and resource management tools and systemsBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferredSalary Range: $ 135,000 - $155,000BGBx is headquartered in New York City, and the salary range listed reflects the expected base compensation for this role in the New York City metropolitan area. This position may be performed remotely within the United States.
For candidates located outside the New York City area, compensation will be adjusted to reflect the applicable market for the employee's primary work location.
