We are supporting a high growth renewable energy platform (IPP) who are seeking a Director Project Finance to structure and execute financings for their growing portfolio of renewable development projects.
The Project Finance Director will lead the structuring, financing, and financial management of the company's renewable energy generation projects. This role is responsible for arranging and negotiating construction and term debt, tax equity, and other capital sources, managing lender and investor relationships, and evaluating project economics across the development and operating portfolio. The ideal candidate combines strong financial modeling skills with deal-making experience in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Structure, negotiate, and close financing for renewable energy projects (construction debt, term debt, tax equity, bridge financing)
Build and maintain project finance models, including tax equity structures and cash flow waterfalls
Manage relationships with lenders, tax equity investors, and other capital providers
Lead due diligence and coordinate with legal counsel, engineers, and tax advisors on financing documentation
Partner with development teams to assess financeability of projects during bid/development stages
Monitor covenant compliance, distributions, and financial performance across the portfolio
Track market dynamics and financing conditions to inform capital strategy
Manage project-level financial, credit, and interest rate risk, including hedging strategies
Manage and mentor project finance team members
Present financing strategy and project economics to executive leadership and the board
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
7-12+ years of experience in project finance, renewable energy finance, or infrastructure finance
Demonstrated experience structuring and closing non-recourse project financings
Advanced financial modeling skills, including tax equity structures (partnership flip, sale-leaseback, etc.)
Solid understanding of the US power markets
Strong negotiation and communication skills
